Cette maison d'architecte du début des années 2000, avec sa superbe hauteur sous plafond, ses poutres apparentes et sa proximité des plages bretonnes, ne correspondait plus aux goûts ni au style de vie des propriétaires. Une nouvelle décoration s'imposait pour valoriser les espaces et mieux refléter la personnalité de ses habitants.
Un intérieur inspiré du bord de mer
Pour ce projet, nous avons puisé notre inspiration dans les souvenirs de vacances de nos clients, en bord de mer. Ce type d'univers est très prisé pour son style à la fois chic et naturel, avec ses maisons en bois noir et ses cabanes de bord de mer. Nous avons donc recréé cette atmosphère de vacances, entre élégance et décontraction.
La palette de couleurs s'articule autour du noir, rappelant les maisons du littoral, apportant caractère et raffinement. Pour compléter ce noir, un bleu profond, entre bleu canard et bleu nuit, évoque l'océan et illumine l'entrée de la maison. Cette entrée, autrefois sombre et peu accueillante, a été transformée en un cocon chaleureux et élégant grâce à l'association du noir, du bleu canard, et de touches de bois.
Ce qui a initialement motivé nos clients à entreprendre des travaux de rénovation était leur sol en carrelage, qu'ils souhaitaient remplacer. Le choix s'est naturellement porté sur le béton ciré, en gris anthracite, s'accordant parfaitement avec le thème du projet. Chaque détail comptant, l'appareillage électrique a été remplacé par la gamme Confidence de Modelec en laiton canon de fusil, sobre et raffinée, idéale pour parachever ce projet.
Un espace réinventé
Dans l'entrée, nous avons conçu une banquette sur mesure sous l'escalier pour optimiser le rangement des chaussures et des objets du quotidien. L'escalier a également été repensé pour s'harmoniser avec le nouveau style.
Dans le salon, toute la décoration a été revisitée pour recréer le style tant apprécié des propriétaires, inspiré des maisons de vacances en bord de mer.
Artisanat et Éthique
Pour ajouter une touche d'authenticité, les chaises ont été fabriquées artisanalement en Bourgogne par Berfey. Nous avons eu un coup de cœur pour cette entreprise qui conçoit des meubles éthiques, durables, et responsables, entièrement Made in France.
Un mélange de matières naturelles comme le lin, le rotin, le bois massif, et la laine, ainsi que des matériaux plus sophistiqués tels que le velours ou bruts comme le métal, contribuent à instaurer une ambiance à la fois chic, décontractée, et chaleureuse.
Une cuisine aux couleurs harmonieuses
Dans la cuisine, nous avons introduit une troisième couleur, un vert kaki, qui s'harmonise parfaitement avec les deux autres couleurs de la palette. En tant que couleur accent, elle apporte douceur et harmonie. Le zellige blanc de la nouvelle crédence renforce cette touche de douceur et de naturel.
Optimisation de la mezzanine
À l'étage, sur la mezzanine, nous avons créé un coin bureau sur mesure ainsi qu'une bibliothèque le long de la trémie, afin de donner une fonction utile à cet espace et de ne pas perdre de place.
This architect-designed house from the early 2000s, with its impressive ceiling height, exposed beams and proximity to the Breton beaches, no longer matched the tastes or lifestyle of its owners. A new interior design approach was needed to enhance the spaces and better reflect the personality of its inhabitants.
An interior inspired by the seaside
For this project, we drew inspiration from our clients' holiday memories by the sea. This type of atmosphere is highly appreciated for its blend of chic and natural style, with black timber houses and coastal cabins. We therefore recreated this holiday feeling, somewhere between elegance and relaxation.
The colour palette revolves around black, echoing coastal architecture while bringing character and sophistication. To complement this dark tone, a deep blue, somewhere between teal and midnight blue, evokes the ocean and brightens the entrance of the house. This entrance, previously dark and unwelcoming, has been transformed into a warm and elegant cocoon through the combination of black, teal blue and touches of timber.
What initially motivated our clients to undertake renovation work was their tiled flooring, which they wanted to replace. The choice naturally fell on waxed concrete in anthracite grey, perfectly matching the project's overall theme. Since every detail matters, the electrical fittings were replaced with the Confidence collection by Modelec in gunmetal brass, a refined and understated finish that perfectly completes the project.
A reinvented space
In the entrance, we designed a bespoke bench beneath the staircase to optimise storage for shoes and everyday items. The staircase itself was also redesigned to harmonise with the new interior style.
In the living room, the entire decoration was reworked to recreate the style appreciated by the owners, inspired by holiday homes by the sea.
Craftsmanship and ethics
To add an authentic touch, the chairs were handcrafted in Burgundy by Berfey. We were immediately drawn to this company, which designs ethical, sustainable and responsible furniture, entirely Made in France.
A mix of natural materials such as linen, rattan, solid wood and wool, combined with more sophisticated materials like velvet or raw elements such as metal, helps create an atmosphere that is simultaneously chic, relaxed and welcoming.
A kitchen with harmonious colours
In the kitchen, we introduced a third colour: a khaki green that harmonises perfectly with the two other tones of the palette. Used as an accent colour, it brings softness and balance. The white zellige tiles of the new splashback reinforce this feeling of natural simplicity.
Optimising the mezzanine
Upstairs, on the mezzanine, we created a bespoke workspace and a bookshelf running along the stair opening, giving this area a useful purpose while making the most of every square metre.
