Looking for an interior design professional in Bretagne?
Créateurs d’intérieur brings together architects, interior designers, decorators and landscapers who work in Brittany, notably in Quimper, Lorient and Vannes, but also in the rest of Finistère, Morbihan, Côtes d' Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine.
Interior design of Breton houses
By “Breton house”, we often designate constructions which are not always similar, even if they share certain points in common: granite or white plaster walls, slate roofs, south-facing orientation, west-facing gable to protect the wind.
Inland, there are farmhouses (long and single-storey) as well as thatched cottages (higher, often with one floor) or farmhouses. On the coasts, we find the famous Malouinières, manors as well as fishermen's houses which have a lot of character. In the town center, there are half-timbered houses typical of Breton towns spared by bombing (Quimper, Vannes, Concarneau). Other city centers are more modern, linked to post-war reconstruction (Lorient, Brest).
This heritage can give rise to superb renovations adapted to contemporary lifestyles, with or without extension while preserving the heritage character and integrating today's modernity.
The real estate stock is also made up of apartments, neo-Breton houses from the 60s or recent houses. Although more modern, these constructions can benefit from the services of planning professionals, whether to review circulation, decompartmentalize or propose landscaping.
